youth

The Youth ministry at OICC aims to connect with Orcas Island teens because of our genuine and unconditional love for them. We seek to build friendships and create fun, relevant environments in which they can explore who Jesus is, and consider entering into a relationship with Him. We also seek to encourage and equip those who have made a decision to follow Jesus, and to provide opportunities to serve Him by serving others.

Every June, our high school leaders take a group to Camp Chelan for five days of non-stop fun in the sun! In past years the kids have gone white-water rafting and water skiing. Every year brings some surprises from the creative minds of the Camp Chelan team. This trip is the highlight of the year for many Orcas Island High School students, and for many it has proven to be a life-changing experience as they encounter the presence and truth of Jesus Christ in a safe atmosphere of love and respect.

  • Mission Trips

The youth ministry team organizes mission trips about every other year. These trips have an emphasis on service, and have seen the youth serving in such places as Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and Camden, New Jersey. There is always time for fun and personal growth in relationship with Jesus and others.
