Kids' ministry

Orcas Island Community Church loves the ones Jesus loves and

Jesus had a special care and compassion for kids. Our Kids' Ministry strives to create safe, fun environments where children can be introduced to Jesus' love for them, and grow and mature to reach their full potential in relationships with God and their community.

    Tickets, please!

Is the water in your glass shaking? The chandelier rattling? Don’t worry, it’s not an earthquake, it’s the Rocky Railway! The date is set for this year’s VBS at OICC, where kids will discover that trusting Jesus pulls them through life’s ups and downs. Young “conductors” will learn a new element of God’s power each day through Bible adventures, ChewChew snacks, Loco Motion games, and more.

All Aboard! Join us for this epic mountain adventure...

Please note - Due to COVID-19, the following changes have been made for VBS this year:

*NEW* dates and time - July 6-9, 2:00 - 4:15 p.m. Health and safety regulations recommended by the county and Department of Health will be followed to the best of our abilities. Each day will begin with a brief health screening, crews will meet in small groups, and activities will take place primarily outside, with masks and proper physical distancing in place. In the case of rain, camp will be cancelled on any given day. Friday will be used as a rain "make up" day, if necessary.

  • Nursery

We provide high-quality, loving nursery care for ages birth through four years old during our 10:00am Sunday morning worship service and other events throughout the church calendar.

  • Sunday School

During 9:30 Sunday service, children are dismissed to classrooms (based on their age/grade level) in the Family Center. They are encouraged to bring their own Bibles, as stories are read and lessons are taught. The environment is welcoming and friendly, with “hands on” learning, fun activities, and yummy snacks. Bible memorization is encouraged. Children develop a deeper understanding of God’s Word and experience His love through healthy relationships with peers and adults

  • CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

    “Sing A Song Of Christmas”

Sunday, December 8th at 10:00 am

Take a step back in time at the community church, as children encourage others to use their imaginations to “see, hear, and smell” what Christmas was like over 2,000 years ago. Through crowded streets, singing angels, and fresh cut hay, we invite you to join us as we celebrate this wonderful season.

Ultimately, we hope to share a Christmas message of love - God’s love for us, our love for Him, and our love for others. And, how that message still applies to us today.

This year we are especially excited to have all acoustical accompaniment played by our middle and high school youth, with the support of Pastor Brian and Jon Hane. We hope to see you there.
