Important  update  from  oicc

"Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth."

- Psalm 124:8 (NIV)

Dear friends,

I hope and pray that you are all doing well. This has been a week like no other. We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation that has now been labeled both a global pandemic and national emergency. After discussions with county officials and other faith communities, the elder board has met to discuss what this means for OICC.

As a church with many people in the higher-risk categories for contracting the virus, we need to take responsibility for the health of our community and do what we can to help stop our health services from becoming overwhelmed with new cases.

Until further notice, we have decided to cancel all church events. We will host an online worship service on Sunday mornings at 10 am. We want to encourage everyone to stay home and join the service via our church website at

Last week, we successfully Livestreamed the service via our website and many people participated in this way. This is not ideal, but we believe that this is the best way forward for the time being. As Dave Ecklund's 98-year-old German great-grandmother used to say, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Our schools are closing and many businesses are hurting. This will be a time of testing. It's important that we remember the words that Jesus told his disciples before going to the cross. "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Grace & Peace,

Brian Moss
