Thoughts about Giving

"Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."  - 2 Corinthians 9:7

As followers of Jesus, we understand that all we have comes from God. Giving cheerfully and sacrificially of our financial resources is part of our worship. Each year the congregation approves an annual budget. Unlike many churches, we do not receive annual pledges. Instead, we trust God to provide through the generosity of those who attend our church and benefit from its ministries. Each Sunday, we post an update about our annual budget and giving to date.

How much should I give? Many people at OICC follow the traditional practice of giving 10% (a tithe) or more of their income to the local church. Whatever you decide to give, we sincerely hope you’ve been blessed by the work God has called us to do.

We have several different areas to give here at OICC.  The general fund, Orcas Outreach, Neighbor to Neighbor Shelter, Global Outreach, Men's Ministry, Ladies Fellowship, CCKIDS, Youth, and many more other ministries.

Benevolence Fund: This fund serves those in our church and community with special financial needs.

Financial Accounting and Reporting: Our Finance Committee, led by Treasurer Wade Zammit , assures the proper bookkeeping and accounting of our OICC funds, and tax-deductible receipts are generated at year’s end for your records.

Large Gifts, Estate Planning, or Land Gifts: From time to time, people wish to give a large and generous gift or want to include OICC in their will as part of their estate planning. Sometimes individuals wish to donate land to the church. If you would like to give a large gift or donate land, please call the church office.
